Children at Waverley Academy helped the Queen to celebrate her 90th birthday today by having a street party in her honour. The whole school have been learning about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II and the fact that she is the longest reigning monarch in British history. For homework children across the school made bunting depicting important British events over the past 90 years. Instead of school uniform children and staff were dressed in red, white and blue to match the colours of the British flag. Mrs Arthur from the office actually got dressed up as the Queen and Mrs Humphrey and the other staff had to curtsey to her!
Thank-you to everyone who helped to make it an amazing afternoon!
